If you want something sweet yet tangy to add to your yogurt, granola, pancakes or cheesecake this blueberry compote recipe is just for you. You can use fresh or frozen blueberries either one will make the perfect compote.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups Blueberries (fresh or frozen, I prefer frozen)
- ½ cup of water (use less if you using frozen blueberries)
- 3 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp of granulated sugar*
*Adjust sugar and lemon to your taste, if you like yours sweeter or tangier or both. I personally don’t like it too sweet, but go wild if you have a very sweet tooth.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add blueberries, water, lemon and sugar to a small saucepan cook over a medium to high heat for about 10-15 minutes. Stir frequently.
- Reduce heat to ensure you have a good sauce consistency.
- Remove from heat after 3 minutes. Let it cool down.
Can be served hot or cold.
